  1. Provide overall editorial leadership for the Lean Construction Journal
  2. Set and steward LCJ’s voice, vision, and editorial standards
  3. Serve as the final decision authority on disputes related to review outcomes, content, accuracy, or ethical boundaries
  4. Act as reviewers as needed
  5. Represent LCJ in strategic and external engagements as appropriate
- Note: The Editor‑in‑Chief role is fully operational and carries primary editorial authority.

Editorial Staff

  2. One Academic Editor
  3. Role:
    Editors provide day‑to‑day editorial leadership and coordination across topic areas, working between the Editor‑in‑Chief and Topic Area Editors to ensure quality, consistency, and timely progression of manuscripts. Responsibilities include:
    - Overseeing the peer‑review process across submissions, including coordination with Topic Area Editors;
    - Making publication recommendations and decisions in alignment with LCJ standards and governance;
    - Supporting special issues and strategic editorial initiatives.
    - Resolving routine review issues and escalating complex or disputed cases to the Editor‑in‑Chief as appropriate;

- Theme Editors
  1. Role:
    - Lead editorial activity within the assigned theme
    - Select and engage reviewers, and coordinate review stages
    - Contribute to publication recommendations in coordination with LCJ Editors
    - Promote LCJ visibility and encourage high-quality submissions
    - Recommend articles for downstream dissemination (LCI News, Lean Construction Blog, Best Paper)
    - Lead special topic or guest‑edited issues as needed

- Associate Editors
  1. Role:
    - Support Theme Editor activity by assisting with reviewer identification and engagement. And follow-up
    - Support review progression, correspondence, and manuscript assessment
    - Assist in expanding LCJ’s visibility and author pipeline
    - Recommend articles for downstream dissemination (LCI News, Lean Construction Blog, Best Paper).
    - Support special topic or guest‑edited issues as requested

Advisory & Stewardship Roles (Non‑Operational)

Advisory Board
- No operational authority
- Convened periodically or as needed
- Supports Theme Editors/Editors/Editors‑in‑Chief on long‑term direction, ethics, and positioning
- Strategic counsel, continuity, external perspective

Foundational & Honorary Roles (Archival)

Co‑Founding Editors
- Co‑Founding Editors hold no operational or decision‑making authority. They may be consulted informally, but do not participate in routine editorial decisions
- Institutional memory and recognition of foundational stewardship
  - This group includes Alan Mossman, Glenn Ballard, Gregory A. Howell (in memoriam), and Tariq Sami Abdelhamid

Editors‑at‑Large
- This role is non‑operational and does not carry routine editorial or decision‑making authority
- Ambassadorial support, special initiatives, reviewing, and advisory contributions as invited
- Additional Editors‑at‑Large may be appointed in the future as needed to support the journal’s mission and outreach
