Words of Wisdom

How the Owner Benefits

From: Target Value Delivery: Practitioner Guidebook to Implementation – Current State 2016, Chapter 5, Pg. 42
The owners and teams engaged with owners that build capital projects year after year, learning from one project to the next is critical to improving outcomes over time. Without taking time to determine whether it captured value from its project, the owner will not be able to continue organizational momentum to continuously improve for higher-value, lower-cost facilities in the future.

Transforming Design and Construction: A Framework for Change
As a framework for learning the fundamentals of a Lean transformation, LCI’s first book in the Transforming Design and Construction series encourages discussion and experimentation from all project team members. Transforming Design and Construction: A Framework for Change offers industry insight for owners, designers, builders, trade contractors, academics and consultants alike.

Target Value Delivery: Practitioner Guidebook to Implementation – Current State 2016
Written as the second book in LCI’s Transforming Design and Construction series, Target Value Delivery: Practitioner Guidebook to Implementation – Current State 2016 differs from its predecessor by reading as a practitioner’s manual to give readers a clear “how to” of TVD. Members from all parts and levels of the design and construction industry can use this book as a manual to reference for their Lean projects.

LCI Special Edition: This is Lean
This is Lean is an easy read about the benefits of favoring flow efficiency over resource efficiency for you, your company and your customer. Through anecdotal examples of how Lean can be scaled to different parts of your life, the two authors leave the reader with a firm grasp on the Lean concept.

Target Value Design: Introduction, Framework & Current Benchmark
This introduction to Target Value Design begins with a history of TVD, then goes on to describe why owners and all stakeholders benefit from using customer constraints on cost, time, etc. as motivation to deliver projects with higher value.
