Sponsorship / Exhibitor Opportunities

Last chance to secure your exhibit space and sponsorship opportunities!!
The last day to grab your exhibit space and sponsorship is September 22nd. There is still prime exhibit space left and sponsorship opportunities of many different levels that fit your budget. Last year's record breaking attendance of 1,325 Lean professionals was the fifth year of consecutive growth. Based on these numbers, we would like for you to think about sponsoring and exhibiting with us. Think of the benefits that would be provided for your company if all of these people would be able to see your name and be aware of your service.

Exhibitor Webinar Series:
As we did last year, before Congress, we are giving each exhibitor a chance to show LCI what they intend on sharing with us at their booths. An invitation to these webinars has been sent so be sure to register for the webinars on the topics that interest you. You can also access these webinars from our Calendar of Events. For a complete list of exhibitors, and to view recordings of exhibitor webinars, please go to the exhibitor section of www.lcicongress.org and click on the logo of the exhibitor whose webinar you would like to watch. The red asterisks recognize any exhibitor who has a recorded webinar.

Again, thank you to all who are presenting webinars for LCI and we look forward to seeing you in the Exhibit Hall at Congress.

Please be sure to contact Ilene Goldberg, igoldberg@leanconstruction.org with any questions that you may have about sponsorship or exhibiting opportunities.

Join LCI Research Committee
work sessions at LCI Congress

2017 LCI Congress attendees can participate in two LCI Research Committee work sessions that aim to provide a path forward for upcoming research efforts at no additional cost on Tuesday, Oct. 17 in Anaheim, Calif.

Validation, What is it and why is it so powerful? (8 a.m.-10 a.m.)
At some point in any project, the owner makes a "go/no-go" decision, often called "validation." In this session, the LCI Research Committee will ask the question: Is there one type of validation that creates a better platform for Lean processes and integrated practices? Attend this session to share your personal experiences using Lean and integrated practices on projects that had effective validation and those that did not.

Exploring Lean Construction Adoption Strategies by Project Teams (10 a.m.-12 p.m.)
The LCI Research Committee has been studying the approach that expert Lean practitioners use to strategize Lean implementation at a project level and will share common strategies used by these experts to facilitate a discussion regarding successful approaches toward planning Lean implementation. A panel discussion with leading implementers and researchers will conclude with ideas for creating a preliminary adoption strategy procedure to enable Lean implementation planning, along with ideas for next steps LCI can take to create a valuable adoption strategy model for team members.

LCI Education Committee - Learning
Modules available

LCI’s Education Committee has been working hard behind the scenes with Kristin Hill, LCI Director of Education Programs, leading the way. The Education Committee, comprised of Lean practitioners working in the field, has delivered three learning modules:

  • Introduction to Lean Project Delivery
  • Introduction to Last Planner® System
  • Mindset of an Effective Big Room

Two more learning modules, Last Planner® System for Design and Target Value Delivery, will be ready by 2017 LCI Congress, Oct. 16-20 in Anaheim, Calif.

As future learning modules are being planned, the Education Committee will be looking for volunteers to help in work clusters. If any LCI members have ideas to offer the Education Committee, please email them to Kristin Hill, khill@leanconstruction.org.

Community of Practice (CoP) Corner
- Pick up the phone

It was about a week until John Pemberton was due to deliver the Business Case for Lean, a presentation on two LCI-funded research studies, at the New Orleans CoP event on Aug. 18, and with only 12 people registered, the New Orleans CoP core group was wondering if the event would happen at all. That’s when New Orleans CoP leader Greg Lusignan, Broadmoor, LLC, decided to spark a grass roots movement and made a few calls to his local contacts.

Before long, Greg recruited CoP co-leader Nicole Schwartz, Broadmoor, LLC, to assist with registering more than 120 people for the event! Not only did Greg’s grassroots effort pay off in registrations, but he was able to bring on 14 sponsors with only one (Broadmoor, LLC) being an LCI corporate member. For a “forming” CoP, an event of this magnitude is energizing and slightly overwhelming, but the core group worked together as a team to deliver a great educational and networking opportunity for its local Lean community.

Check out the event photos!

All LCI CoP core groups can piggyback off New Orleans CoP’s success and keep the momentum going by taking some time to pick up the phone and call local connections who could truly benefit from attending your next event!

Does your CoP have an innovative idea to share? Send them to Denise Erminger at derminger@leanconstruction.org!

Planning your Journey to LCI Congress
- A Planning Team Member's Insight

Tara Laski, Southland Industries, helped bring you the Gemba Walk options on Friday, Oct. 20 in Anaheim, Calif., and you can read her inside look at the 19th Annual LCI Congress in this week’s blog post. As a previous LCI Congress attendee, Tara mentions how this year’s program differs from previous years due to the focus on more advanced content and the need to bring concepts to life after Congress ends.
