Words of Wisdom

Myth #3 of 5 About IPD and Lean: “IPD only works on large, complex healthcare projects, and teams new to Lean are disadvantaged.”
The Myth Busted: There’s no evidence that IPD is less effective on smaller projects and a “right size” project for IPD has not been proven. Teams new to IPD saw equally positive outcomes as teams with more experience. See video on 5 Myths Busted about IPD and Lean at

Community of Practice (CoP) Corner

Some of the LCI staff attended the Introduction to Lean Project Delivery course in downtown D.C. last week to learn more about Lean tools and to meet new faces in the National Capital Region CoP.

LCI Improved Instructor David MacNeel, OnPoint Lean, broke the lecture up with relevant examples from his time as a Lean Coach for Baker Concrete Construction and with the Make-A-Card simulation. The attendees engaged in friendly competition as three teams worked to eliminate waste and improve the simulated process outcome.
