Words of Wisdom

Myth #2 of 5 About IPD and Lean: “IPD contracts are too complicated, and Lean tools are too rigid.”
The Myth Busted: Teams have the freedom to adapt Lean tools and processes to the needs of specific projects and while most IPD contracts are customized, some templates are emerging. Investing time to understand the project’s contract and Lean approach is part of the effective on-boarding process. See video on 5 Myths Busted about IPD and Lean at leanconstruction.org/

  1. Journal will be embossed with your company logo
  2. Pre and Post Congress attendee lists

Lean Learning Video – Team Partner Selection featuring Dave Roberts

The success of projects is directly linked to how quickly a team can build synergy and the ability to use Lean concepts like collaboration, innovation and conceptual estimating or Target Value Design quickly from the start of the project, Dave Roberts, Senior Project Manager at Harper Limbach LLC, says.

Community of Practice (CoP) Corner

The Work Session in Ft. Worth, Texas, on March 28th had representation from 29 CoPs, the Practice Committee and LCI Staff, collectively the CoP National Team! The day had a robust agenda that began with an LCI National update, followed by several sessions where all provided input and ideas around strengthening our CoPs, development of standardized work practices, future marketing initiatives and the delivery of four standard building block events in all CoPs. At the day’s conclusion, the noted desire of the group as a whole to be able to mentor and network with one another in an effort to advance each CoP was an awesome takeaway! Many thanks to everyone who took time away from their family and “day job” to be a part of this collaborative Work Session!
