Community of Practice (CoP) Corner - Chicago CoP honors a pioneer in Lean

To honor the late Bob Krier, a former pioneer in Chicago’s Lean design and construction market, the LCI Chicago CoP established and held the first annual Bob Krier Award Night on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017 at the Hill Mechanical office. The Chicago CoP core group presented the first Bob Krier award to the Krier family, but in the years to come, the core group will award an individual or team that embodies Bob Krier’s same values.

In conjunction with the event, an annual scholarship fund has been established, which will be presented each spring to benefit the next generation of Lean leaders.

Nearly 200 owners, designers, contractors, trade partners and educators gathered to pay tribute to Bob Krier’s legacy to the Chicago Lean community. Lean Lab displays highlighted lessons learned, Lean journeys and 2018 goals, and five teams presented the specifics of their Lean journey to the audience.
