New York City (LeanNYC)

LCI New York City Community of Practice

LeanNYC’s mission is to drive the continuous improvement of NYC’s unique design, construction and development community. Our research and educational programs promote and support collaborative practices and team accountability to maximize project value, efficiency and reliability for all stakeholders.

LeanNYC, formally organized as a CoP in 2012, is a consortium of Owners, Developers, Investors, Contractors, and Design Consultants directly involved in developing real estate in the tri-state area with an altruistic spirit to improve the process. We enjoy a rich diversity of backgrounds and experiences to share, but always enjoy new stories from new members to build our own Lean Journey in the greater New York Metropolitan area.

Look for our Community of Practice Lean Coffees for impromptu discussions of everything Lean and coming events. If there is something in particular you are interested in learn more about or would like the CoP to investigate – please do not hesitate to reach out to any LeanNYC member.

Design Community – your involvement in the beginning of the project planning process is crucial to saving the team from delivering projects late and with less value. This is also where Lean in design can help! Lean methodologies are helping design and construction companies in the U.S. and around the world become more efficient while increasing client satisfaction, cutting costs and eliminating re-work.

The 2018 Lean in Design Forum will address common struggles LCI members encounter such as:

  • Transforming a firm’s culture holistically
  • Implementing Last Planner® System in design effectively
  • Making sound decisions collaboratively
  • Onboarding team members consistently

The annual 2018 LCI/P2SL/AIA Lean in Design Forum is the event where designers come together to learn about and advance Lean methodologies. Industry-leading design practitioners will present on how Lean techniques free up time for creative decision-making and innovative problem-solving on current topics affecting the design community.

2018 Lean in Design Forum attendees will find immense value in:

  • Presentations by experienced Lean practitioners
  • Interactive learning roundtables
  • Lean in design phase educational sessions
  • Networking among Lean practitioners with passion for collaboration, creativity and efficient project delivery.

Join design colleagues at this year’s Lean in Design Forum in Chicago – the must-attend design industry event!
