Target Value Design

Target Value Design (TVD) is a core process of Lean project delivery. In traditional approach, Owner value is incompletely realized, as design solutions evolve through trade-off discussions and decision making. In this course, participants learn how to use TVD to deliver a built environment that supports sustainable operations, enhances occupant’s physical well-being and social capital, within constraints of time & money.

This is a hands-on workshop, training in TVD.

Participants will learn how to:
1. Conduct Pre-Design programming and analysis using Conditions of Satisfaction to define stakeholder value propositions and objectives.
2. Develop Design solutions using continuous cost-modeling to enable selection of building systems that support occupant needs and the Owner’s business case.
3. Produce Construction Documents using a minimally processed BIM, enabling constructors to achieve the design intent using innovative methods such as pre-fabrication; delivering a commissioned environment fit-for-use, on time & on budget.
4. Conduct Construction Administration using behaviors specified in the Conditions of Satisfaction in support of the owner’s goals for the process of project delivery.
