Rivers Casino & Resort:
Pull Planning to Beat the Odds

Date: Thursday, October 13, 2016

Time: 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm

Location: Rivers Casino & Resort, Schenectady, NY

Is there a project more schedule-driven than a casino?

Rivers Casino & Resort is a $330 million private investment by Rush Street Gaming.  Along with the adjacent Mohawk Harbor development, the new casino will transform one of America’s oldest brownfields into a waterfront tourism destination, located in Schenectady, NY.

LeChase Construction’s Project Executive – Ryan Faulkner, AIC, CPC – will lead a tour highlighting the use of Lean processes and tools that, at this date, are resulting in weekly PPC results tracking in the mid-to-high 80%’s.  Before the tour, the audience will receive a project overview presentation:

  • 100% buy-in to the pull-planning process, including a 6-week lookahead and 1-week PPC schedules
  • On-site, Big Room “trailer-plex” location
  • 5S and Pre-Fabrication enabling a ‘clean and organized site’
  • Pre-Requisite Lean Training for all superintendents, foremen, and trade workers on site
  • Visual Management of Lean and Safety principles
  • Venue-by-Venue PPC
  • “Seeing” and reducing Variation to achieve Lean, small-batch Workflows.

The LeChase team has organized trades to work for an experienced owner/developer to deliver one of the most challenging project types.  Lean tools and processes are helping the project team stay on schedule, on budget, while managing change on a clean, well-organized and safe construction site. Project Executive, Ryan Faulkner, has been on his Lean Journey for several years.  Learn from his record of continuous improvement as you begin your Lean Journey toward project delivery success.

Ryan Faulkner is Project Executive for LeChase Construction and Certified Professional Constructor.  Ryan began his Lean Journey more than six years ago with LeChase, as a member of the GLOBALFOUNDRIES project team.  Ryan is a Lean champion, facilitating and training project superintendents in the use of Pull-Planning for the Rivers Casino & Resort project.  Ryan has more than 15 years experience in project delivery, since graduating Summa Cum Laude from ASU with a degree in Construction Management.
