LCI Education Course: Mindset of an Effective Big Room

High-performing teams function on collaborative brain power to rapidly advance work and add value by driving down overall project costs in a Big Room setting. Effective Big Rooms are only possible with the right kind of mindset and behaviors that break down the traditional silos to allow for cross-functional team collaboration and decision-making. LCI’s Mindset of an Effective Big Room learning module creates a simulated Big Room experience encouraging you to create, manage and lead your own detailed Big Room concept and implementation plan tailored to your project’s specific needs whether you have had previous experience or not. Small groups will discuss onboarding new members, technology and real world challenges to Big Room implementation and report back to the large group to share and create a list of standards and better practices.

Learning Objectives:

  • Immerse yourself in a Big Room atmosphere
  • Tightly couple learning with action
  • “Pull” the learning needed from facilitators and participants
  • Develop your own detailed Big Room concept and implementation plan
  • Learn how to organize and manage a Big Room tailored to your specific project needs
  • Collaboratively develop a list of standards and better practices

Brian Winningham – FDL – Brian has over 20 years experience estimating, planning, managing and leading construction projects, Brian is passionate about sharing the benefits of Lean Construction. Currently, Brian is the leader of the San Antonio LCI Community of Practice (CoP). He is also an LCI Approved Instructor for LCI training courses and also an approved instructor for the AGC Lean Construction Education Program (LCEP). Brian is an Army Veteran and I am active with Veterans in the community
