This course will introduce Lean Project Delivery as an Operating System relative to the design and construction industry. Participants will learn the key principles and wastes that are foundational to Lean, ways to eliminate/reduce waste from processes, collaborative tools and approaches. It includes a hands-on learning simulation.
Bernita Beikmann – HKS, Inc. – Bernita Beikmann is a Principal with HKS, Inc. and Director of Operations for the Health Group. She has served integral roles as a project architect, project manager at HKS for the last 20 years, and a coach and facilitator for project teams. As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, she works with all departments at HKS to improve internal processes. Ms. Beikmann is currently serving on the joint committee for the AIA and AGC and the LCI Board.
Aaron Pitt – JE Dunn – A construction PM by trade, Aaron Pitt, of J.E. Dunn Construction, grew up working in construction – seeing the same problems and issues repeated project after project. Mid-career, he was introduced to the ideas of Lean Construction and finally solutions to the reoccurring problems began to surface. Aaron joined JE Dunn in 2015 to teach, train, and build a lean culture full time.
This course is AIA/CES registered for 5 LU credits
