This is the time of year many of us are bringing in student interns and hiring recent CM school graduates and integrating them into our Lean cultures and practices. To help you in that, your Arizona Community of Practice is presenting Introduction to Lean Project Delivery. This will be a great opportunity to introduce interns, new hires, or anyone to the LCI, to get an overview of what Lean project delivery is, and support your efforts at building your Lean culture.
Overview: What if you could add more value for your customers while meeting schedule and budget requirements? By recognizing the various types of waste in project delivery processes, you can start to increase productivity by implementing the Lean approaches taught in Introduction to Lean Project Delivery. With a small mindset shift, the silos set up by traditional delivery methods can be broken to allow architects, engineers, general contractors, trade partners and owners to closely collaborate and problem solve together. This LCI education course, taught with real-life design and construction examples and a hands-on simulation, will be an important step on your journey to achieve Lean thinking.
Tammy McConaughy, J.E. Dunn – Tammy has been a Sr. Lean Specialist at JE Dunn since 2014. She is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and has over 15 years experience in construction in roles from administration to project and operations management. Tammy has presented research findings on the successes of Lean and the Last Planner System at LCI Congress and internationally at IGLC 21 – Fortaleza Brazil.
