Iris Tommelein -UC Berkeley – Dr. Iris Tommelein is Professor of Engineering and Project Management at UC Berkeley. She teaches and conducts research to develop and advance the theory and principles of project-based production management. She directs the Project Production Systems Laboratory at UC Berkeley, a research laboratory dedicated to developing and deploying knowledge and tools for project management. Her research focuses on enabling integrated owner/designer/builder teams to continuously improve their processes.
Glenn Ballard – UC Berkeley – Dr. Glenn Ballard is the Research Director of the Project Production Systems Laboratory and an Associate Professor at UC Berkeley. His principle research interest is adapting lean production theory from manufacturing to project management practice. Dr. Ballard co-founded the Lean Construction Institute in 1997. He brings 25 years of construction industry expertise to his role and is a recognized expert in the area of project performance improvement.
