A Case Study for Lean & Design-Build on Small Healthcare Projects
Lean behaviors can only get you so far on Design-Bid-Build projects. One owner/contractor team tried multiple approaches on multiple projects and was able to achieve reliable outcomes through a Design-Build + Lean approach. Attendees will hear about how each of these projects were executed and the lessons learned. They will also learn about how the team tried to implement countermeasures to address the lessons learned on the previous project.

Kenneth Roberts, RCDD, RTPM, PMP, CSM, SCPM, Sutter Health Facility & Property Services – As a Senior Project Manager, Kenneth’s primary focus is on micro to medium size projects ($30K to $5M) for Sutter Medical Center at Sacramento and surrounding Sutter affiliates. He has leveraged design-build on several micro and small projects with great success. He is a Stanford Certified Project Manager with a focus on Innovation and Design Thinking.
Angela Bowman, The Boldt Company – Angela came to The Boldt Company in 2014 with an extensive background in the HVAC/plumbing industry, where she has over 15 years of experience. Angela’s immersion in the initial system design and its continued management during the project has been a great asset in eliminating many of the field conflicts typical to complex system design. She utilizes many Lean principles and tools, no matter the delivery method of a project
