Last Planner - How Do I Get Started

There are a number of routes to getting started on Last Planner™:

Read about it. The LCI Research page is a good place to start, but on its own is unlikely to be sufficient
Attend an open workshop — these are offered by LCI in the US, The Change Business Ltd in the UK and the Danish Technological Institute in Denmark — and listed on the LCI Calendar — these workshops can also be run in-house for your company or for a particular project team.
Arrange a project based workshop so that your company and its suppliers and sub-contractors can pilot the Last Planner System on one of its projects. This approach involves the whole delivery team in a project initiation workshop follow up coaching on site and an end of project review. We are pleased when owners, clients or their construction companies use Last Planner™ to improve their design and construction performance. We make no charge for this and place no limits on its use within a company. We do encourage companies that find it useful to become contributors to the Lean Construction Institute.

We do retain a Trademark on the term and Copyright in the idea and materials to prevent people who misunderstand or misrepresent the system from using it in trade. Because we want those who design and construct with the help of the Last Planner System™ to have the best possible start, we do require that those who use the term in trade are approved by us. That is, those offering to teach, coach or apply Last Planner™ as part of a commercial offer need our approval. We also expect them to make financial and other contributions to the Institute in recognition of the financial and other benefits they are getting from the work we have put into developing Last Planner™.
